O6-Methyl-GTP
O6-Methyl-GTP is a nucleoside triphosphate based on guanine, in which a methyl modification is introduced at the O6 position. It serves as a type of modified monomeric building block for nucleic acid synthesis. In in vitro transcription or in vitro DNA/RNA synthesis systems, it can be recognized by polymerases as a GTP analogue and incorporated into nucleic acid chains, enabling the preparation of DNA or RNA molecules containing O6-methylguanine residues. This compound is commonly used to study DNA damage and repair (particularly alkylation damage and the MGMT repair pathway), alterations in base-pairing properties, and mechanisms of gene mutation. In addition, O6-Methyl-GTP can be used to construct functional nucleic acid probes, to mimic drug action targets, or to develop novel nucleic acid materials.
