Featured Products
Scopolamine (CAS 51-34-3) is a naturally derived tropane alkaloid isolated primarily from plants of the Solanaceae family. Structurally analogous to acetylcholine, scopolamine functions as a competitive antagonist at muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (mAChRs), thereby inhibiting cholinergic neurotransmission. Its central and peripheral anticholinergic activity has led to significant investigation into therapeutic roles involving modulation of parasympathetic pathways. Currently, scopolamine is FDA-approved to prevent nausea and vomiting related to motion sickness and surgical interventions, available both orally and as a transdermal patch formulation.
