Protease Inhibitor Cocktail(MS-SAFE, 50X in DMSO)
Crude cell extracts contain a number of endogenous enzymes, such as phosphatases and proteases, which are capable of degrading proteins in the extracts. Protein production is greatly halted and degradation is increased when proteins are extracted from cells and tissues in vitro. The best way to increase the yield of intact proteins is to add a cocktail of inhibitors of those enzymes known to be present.
This protease inhibitor cocktail contains components such as Aprotinin, Bestatin, E-64, Leupeptin with a broad specificity for cysteine, serine, acid protease and aminopeptidase. This product does not contain AEBSF, to avoid interfering with mass spectrometry (MS) analysis due to mass spectral peak drift caused by AEBSF. Therefore, protein samples extracted with this product are compatible with mass spectrometry detection. This product is supplied as a ready-to-use solution in DMSO. In addition, an additional EDTA is available for optional use.
