Lithocholic Acid 3-sulfate (sodium salt)
Lithocholic acid 3-sulfate disodium is a sulfated modified product of lithocholic acid (LCA). As an endogenous metabolite, its structure is enhanced in polarity due to the introduction of sulfate groups. This compound can act as a ligand for the nuclear receptor RORγt, inhibiting the differentiation of helper t cell 17 (Th17) by binding to RORγt, and thereby regulating intestinal immunity and inflammatory responses. In addition, it has the potential to induce cell damage. At high concentrations, it can exert toxic effects on liver cells and others by interfering with the integrity of cell membranes or activating stress signaling pathways.
