TF-1 Cells
TF-1 cells are isolated from a heparin anticoagulant bone marrow aspiration sample from a 35-year-old Japanese man with severe pancytopenia in 1987. The growth of TF-1 cells is completely dependent on IL-3 or GM-CSF, but does not respond to IL-5. In addition, TF-1 cells respond to a variety of lymphokines and cytokines, including IL-1, IL-4, IL-6, IL-9, IL-11, IL-13, CSF, LIF, and NGF.
