SwiftBlock? Blocking Buffer (TBS, Fast)
SwiftBlock? Blocking Buffer (TBS, Fast) is a next-generation, rapid and efficient blocking buffer formulated in TBS. This product contains no serum, albumin, biotin, or detergents, but includes a preservative that does not affect HRP or AP activity. It is suitable for blocking membranes or samples, as well as for diluting primary and secondary antibodies, in applications such as Western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunocytochemistry (IC).
This product provides rapid and efficient blocking, typically requiring only 5–15 minutes, and exhibits a significantly improved signal-to-noise ratio compared to traditional blocking reagents (e.g., BSA, non-fat dry milk, casein). The absence of serum and albumin ensures an exceptionally high signal-to-noise ratio and very low background after blocking. The product offers excellent compatibility with horseradish peroxidase (HRP), alkaline phosphatase (AP), and biotin-labeled secondary antibodies. It offers flexible use: the TBS-formulated product can be used directly in experiments, or detergents (e.g., Tween?20 or Triton X?100) may be added to the desired final concentration (0.05%–0.1%) for blocking or for diluting primary and secondary antibodies as needed.
This product is recommended for single use only. Repeated use often reduces blocking efficacy; however, for certain primary antibodies that yield a high signal-to-noise ratio (e.g., loading control antibodies), the blocking buffer may be reused 2–3 times. Be sure to avoid mixing used blocking buffer with fresh, unused buffer.
