ssK36 (trifluoroacetate salt)
ssK36 is a super-substrate peptide existing in the form of trifluoroacetate, specifically designed for histone methyltransferase (SET) domain protein 2 (SETD2). SETD2 is a specific protein-lysine methyltransferase (PKMT) that is responsible for catalyzing the trimethylation modification of the 36th lysine residue (H3K36) of histone H3 in human cells, forming H3K36me3. Compared with the natural substrate H3K36, the methylation rate of ssK36 by SETD2 has increased by more than 100 times. Due to its highly efficient catalytic properties, ssK36 can be used as an important tool for studying the catalytic mechanism of PKMT, especially suitable for exploring key issues such as substrate specificity, catalytic efficiency, and enzyme-substrate interactions.
