Background

Sevoflurane  is a commonly used inhaled general anesthetic with low solubility. Sevoflurane exerts a partial pharmacological effect by non-competitive inhibition of 5-HT3 receptors, which may be related to its antiemetic effect. In addition, it acts on a variety of receptors and ion channels in the central nervous system, producing sedation, analgesia, and muscle relaxation.
