Featured Products
Sertindole (CAS No.: 106516-24-9) is an atypical antipsychotic drug mainly used for the treatment of schizophrenia. Its mechanism of action involves antagonism of dopamine D2 receptors, serotonin (5-HT) 2A and 5-HT2C receptors, and α1 adrenergic receptors. In vitro studies show that Sertindole has relatively high affinity for the 5-HT2A receptor, with a Ki value of approximately 0.39 nM; the Ki value for the D2 receptor is approximately 2.35 nM, and the Ki value for the α1A receptor is approximately 1.8 nM. These properties give it potential to improve both positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia while reducing the risk of extrapyramidal reactions. In cellular and animal models, Sertindole is often used to study its effects on neurotransmitter systems, and the doses or concentrations used in experiments typically depend on the experimental design and research objectives. However, it should be noted that Sertindole may cause QT interval prolongation; therefore, ECG changes should be carefully monitored in clinical use.
