Perindoprilat
Perindoprilat (CAS No.: 95153-31-4) is a potent angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, primarily used in life science research to modulate cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology. As the active metabolite of the prodrug Perindopril, Perindoprilat exhibits strong inhibitory activity in the nanomolar range, particularly between 1.05 and 3.2 nM, indicating its significant potency in ACE-related research. In the field of hypertension research, Perindoprilat is commonly used to explore systemic vascular resistance and related hemodynamic parameters. Its biological mechanisms include reducing the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) mRNA in certain cell lines at low micromolar concentrations, such as in KB oral squamous cell carcinoma cells. In in vitro studies, this compound acts synergistically with bradykinin to induce endothelium-dependent relaxation responses in isolated canine basilar and coronary arteries. In addition, in vivo studies have shown that, in animal models such as rabbits, Perindoprilat affects renal hemodynamics and fluid balance under hypoxic conditions by regulating blood pressure, renal blood flow, and urine output. The specific application scenarios and dosages of Perindoprilat in experiments typically depend on the particular research framework and objectives, guiding its integration into broader drug screening and cardiovascular research.
