MRK-898

MRK-898 is an orally effective GABA(A) receptor modulator.MRK-898 binds to the α1, α2, α3, and α5 subunits of the GABA receptor with K-values of 1.2 nM, 1.0 nM, 0.73 nM, and 0.50 nM, respectively.However, the α1-containing GABA(A) receptor has been identified as the "sedative" receptor, while the α2 and/or α3-containing receptors have been identified as the "anxiolytic" subtype. However, GABA(A) receptors containing α1 were identified as "sedative" receptors, whereas receptors containing α2 and/or α3 were identified as "anxiolytic" subtypes.
