LtaS-IN-1 is a potent small molecule lipophosphatidic acid inhibitor that inhibits the synthesis of lipophosphatidic acid (LTA) in multidrug-resistant (MDR) Escherichia coli and alters the morphology of the cell wall.Values of LtaS-IN-1 alone for inhibition of enterococcal growth ranged from 0.5 μg/mL to 64 μg/mL.The combination of LtaS-IN-1 with antibiotics almost completely inhibit the growth of multidrug-resistant E. coli.
