Background

Ioxilan is a hypotonic, nonionic and triiodinated diagnostic contrast agent.Ioxilan is also used as an X-ray contrast agent for excretory urography and contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) imaging of the head and body. Intravascular injection renders blood vessels in the path of contrast flow opaque, allowing radiographic visualization of internal body structures until significant hemodilution occurs.
