Hexadecanamide

Hexadecanamide (Hexadecanamide, CAS No.: 629-54-9) is a fatty acid amide derived from palmitic acid and belongs to the class of cell signaling lipids. Studies have shown that hexadecanamide has biological activities such as anti-allergic, antioxidant, and neuroprotective effects. In mouse models, hexadecanamide alleviated Staphylococcus aureus-induced mastitis by inhibiting inflammatory responses and restoring the integrity of the blood-milk barrier. In addition, hexadecanamide can activate peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPARα) and enhance sperm motility in vitro. In cellular and animal models, hexadecanamide is commonly used to study its anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects, and the doses or concentrations used in experiments typically depend on the experimental design and research objectives.
