Fimasartan

Fimasartan (CAS No.: 247257-48-3) is a non-peptide angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARB), mainly used for research on hypertension and heart failure. It noncompetitively binds to the angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1 receptor), blocking the hypertensive effects of angiotensin II, such as systemic vasoconstriction and renal sodium and water retention, thereby lowering blood pressure. In in vitro studies, Fimasartan shows activity in the nanomolar to low micromolar range. In cell and animal models, Fimasartan is commonly used to evaluate its effects on pathological processes mediated by angiotensin II, such as vasoconstriction, cell proliferation, and fibrosis.
