Evocalcet
Evocalcet (CAS No.: 870964-67-3) is an orally active calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) agonist, widely used in biomedical research on calcium homeostasis. This compound has important value in the study of hyperparathyroidism by regulating the secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH) by parathyroid cells. Evocalcet exhibits potent activity in vitro, inducing intracellular calcium release in HEK293 cells expressing the human calcium-sensing receptor, with an effective concentration in the nanomolar range. In animal models, including experiments in non-nephrectomized and 5/6-nephrectomized rats, Evocalcet effectively reduces serum PTH and calcium levels and does not cause adverse reactions such as vomiting in experiments, showing particularly good tolerability in studies in marmosets. These properties indicate its important value as a research tool for elucidating signaling pathways related to the calcium-sensing receptor, and it may have application potential in the drug discovery process. Typical experimental applications include use in drug screening in various cell models and animal models, with the concentration or dose generally determined according to the specific experimental design and research objectives.
