Eprinomectin

Eprinomectin (CAS No.: 123997-26-2) is a semi-synthetic macrocyclic lactone avermectin derivative, widely used in veterinary medicine, mainly for the treatment and control of internal and external parasitic infections in cattle. Its mechanism of action primarily involves binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels, causing chloride channels in parasite nerve and muscle cells to open, leading to cellular hyperpolarization and ultimately resulting in parasite paralysis and death. Studies show that Eprinomectin has high activity against a variety of nematode and arthropod parasites; in in vitro experiments, its effective concentration is typically in the nanomolar to low micromolar range. This drug is commonly administered to cattle via topical pour-on or injection, with the specific dose and concentration depending on the experimental design and research objectives.
