angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor
Featured Products
Enalaprilat (CAS No.: 76420-72-9) is the active metabolite of enalapril and belongs to the class of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, mainly used to treat cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and heart failure. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit ACE, blocking the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, thereby reducing vasoconstriction and lowering blood pressure. In vitro studies show that Enalaprilat inhibits ACE with high potency, with an IC50 in the nanomolar range. In addition, Enalaprilat can inhibit insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I)-induced proliferation of neonatal rat cardiac fibroblasts, with an IC50 of approximately 90 nM. Due to its poor water solubility, Enalaprilat is mainly administered by intravenous injection, and in animal models it is commonly used to study its effects on blood pressure and cardiac function. The dose or concentration used in experiments typically depends on the experimental design and research objectives.
