eIF4A3-IN-1 is a selective inhibitor of eukaryotic initiation factor 4A3 (=0.26 μM; =0.043 μM). eIF4A3-IN-1 binds to the non-ATP-binding site of eIF4A3 and markedly inhibits cellular nonsense-mediated RNA decay (NMD) at 10 μM and 3 μM, and can be used as a further probe to study eIF4A3, the exon junction complex (EJC) and NMD as a probe for further studies of eIF4A3, exon junction complex (EJC) and NMD.
