An anthranilic diamide insecticide, an activator of the ryanodine receptor (Ryanodine Receptor, RyR) in insect muscle cells
Featured Products
Chlorantraniliprole (Chlorantraniliprole, CAS No.: 500008-45-7) is an anthranilic diamide insecticide that primarily acts by activating the ryanodine receptor (Ryanodine Receptor, RyR) in insect muscle cells, causing calcium ions to be released from the endoplasmic reticulum, triggering sustained muscle contraction and paralysis, ultimately leading to insect death. Studies show that chlorantraniliprole has high selectivity for the RyR of Drosophila melanogaster and Heliothis virescens, with EC50 values of 40 nM and 50 nM, respectively, while it has a weaker effect on the RyR of mouse skeletal muscle C2C12 cells, with an EC50 of 14 μM, showing more than 300-fold selectivity. In in vitro experiments, chlorantraniliprole is often used to evaluate its insecticidal activity against different insect species, and the dose or concentration used in experiments typically depends on the experimental design and research objectives. In animal models, chlorantraniliprole has been used to study its metabolism and toxicological properties in insects to assess its application potential in agricultural pest control.
