Bruceantinol is a bitternin isolated from opuntia seeds that inhibits capsicum mottle virus in chili peppers.Bruceantinol is an inhibitor with antitumor activity in both in vivo and ex vivo human colorectal cancer (CRC) models.Bruceantinol inhibits DNA-binding capacity (=2.4 pM), inhibits constitutive and induced activation, and inhibits transcription of MCL-1, PTTG1, survivin and c-Myc.
