Daily oral administration of Bemfivastatin to pregnant rats and rabbits during organogenesis had little or no developmental toxic effects. The No Observed Adverse Effect Levels (NOAEL) were administered at doses of ≥320 mg/kg/d (developmental toxicity in rats), ≥12.5 mg/kg/d (maternal toxicity in rabbits), and ≥25 mg/kg/d (developmental toxicity in rabbits).Bemfivastatin may be used in statin-associated hypercholesterolemic myalgia intolerant of statins.
