Anti-V5 Tag Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

The V5 epitope tag is derived from a small antigenic epitope (Pk) on the P and V proteins of simian virus 5 (SV5, a paramyxovirus), with the core sequence GKPIPNPLLGLDST. Due to its high immunoreactivity and stability, this tag is widely used for recombinant protein detection, especially for transmembrane proteins and secreted proteins that are difficult to label with conventional tags. This antibody was generated by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH). It is a mouse monoclonal antibody that has been validated for Western Blot (WB) and can be used to detect the expression levels of V5-tagged fusion proteins.
