The GFP tag is derived from the green fluorescent protein of the jellyfish Aequorea victoria (Swiss-Prot: P42212). Genetically engineered GFP and its variant derivatives (e.g., CFP, YFP) have become indispensable fluorescent tag tools in live-cell imaging and protein localization studies, and are generally well-tolerated when fused to either the N-terminus or C-terminus of target proteins. This rabbit monoclonal antibody offers high specificity and has been validated for Western Blot (WB) to detect GFP and most of its common variant fusion proteins at the expression level.
