Background

α-Tocopherylquinone is a quinone compound that can be isolated from natural sources such as Phaeodactylum tricornutum. It is the oxidation product of α-Tocopherol (vitamin E) and structurally belongs to the derivatives of vitamin E. α-Tocopherylquinone has a typical quinone structure. Studies have shown that α-Tocopherylquinone has anticoagulant activity, can inhibit platelet aggregation, and reduce the risk of thrombosis. In addition, it also exhibits remarkable antioxidant activity, effectively eliminating free radicals and protecting cells from oxidative damage.
