3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane
3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) can be used as a strong adhesive to immobilize biomolecules (e.g., antibodies and enzymes) on silicon and silicon derivatives (e.g., silicon nitride (SiN)). 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane also acts as a spacer, providing more spatial freedom for biomolecules to obtain higher specific activity during the immobilization process. 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane also acts as a spacer, providing the biomolecule with more spatial freedom during the immobilization process to achieve higher specific activity. 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane immobilizes biomolecules onto a number of solids, electrodes, nanomaterials, and nanocomposites, enabling the formation of more stable, sensitive, and highly biocompatible bioanalytical platforms.
