Aminoallyl-UTP is used for Nucleic Acid Sequence Based Amplification (NASBA), Microarray based hybridization detection, Eberwine mRNA amplification and RNA-labeling. It is enzymatically incorporated into RNA during the NASBA reaction and Eberwine mRNA amplification. The resulting amine-functionalized RNA can subsequently be labeled via the classic Amine/NHS Ester reaction that introduces fluorescent group (via NHS Ester of fluorescent dyes) for subsequent microarray based hybridization detection.
