2' 2' -cGAMP is a synthetic dinucleotide (CDN) containing a non-standard 2'5' -phosphodiester bond. It can bind to STING (stimulator of IFN gene) to activate the type I interferon signaling pathway and initiate innate immune response. The binding of 2' 2' -cGAMP to STING is weaker than 2' 3' -cGAMP (B8362), but stronger than 3' 3' -cGAMP, ring di-GMP or 3' 2' -cGAMP. Although 2' 2' -cGAMP binds STING weakly, its induced production of IFN-β in the same concentration range as that induced by 2' 3' -cGAMP.
