inhibits lipid peroxidation
Featured Products
Schizandrin B (CAS: 61281-37-6) is a dibenzocyclooctadiene lignan isolated from Schisandra fruit. It exhibits antioxidant activity by scavenging hydroxyl and superoxide radicals, inhibiting lipid peroxidation in vitro through NADPH/ascorbate and cysteine/iron systems. In mouse models of doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity, Schizandrin B reduces cardiac lipid peroxidation, protein nitration, metalloprotease activation, cardiomyocyte apoptosis, DNA damage, and inflammation via suppression of MAPK-p38 phosphorylation and p53 activation. These properties make Schizandrin B valuable for investigating oxidative stress-related cardiovascular injury.
