Background

Quercetin 3′,4′,7-trimethyl ether (CAS 6068-80-0) is a methoxylated flavonoid derivative of quercetin. Mechanistically, it exerts antioxidant effects by scavenging free radicals and inhibiting oxidative stress. It can also suppress the release of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-6, as well as signaling pathways like PI3K/Akt and MAPK. This compound possesses both anti-inflammatory activity and the ability to inhibit tumor cell proliferation and induce apoptosis. Methoxylation further optimizes its lipophilicity and bioavailability. Its core functions focus on antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antitumor activities, with potential hepatoprotective and antibacterial properties. It is applied in structure-activity relationship studies of flavonoids, as a precursor for drug development targeting antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and hepatoprotective indications, and in the exploration of related pharmacological activities.
