Golgi-Tracker Green
Golgi-Tracker Green (CAS 133867-53-5) is a green fluorescent probe derived from BODIPY FL-labeled C5-ceramide, belonging to the sphingolipid class. The ceramide moiety selectively incorporates into Golgi membranes within living cells, enabling specific fluorescent labeling of Golgi apparatus. Compared to standard probes such as C-6 NBD ceramide, Golgi-Tracker Green exhibits increased photostability and labeling specificity. It is utilized for visualizing Golgi structures, lipid transport pathways, and sphingolipid metabolism analysis in live cell experiments, but is not suitable for fixed-cell applications.
Golgi-Tracker Green is a green-fluorescent probe that selectively labels Golgi of live cells. Golgi-Tracker Green is the BODIPY FL labeled C5-ceramide. Ceramide and its analogs can specially bind to Golgi. So fluorescent-labeled C5-ceramide (Golgi-Tracker Green) can label Golgi. Unlike conventional Golgi probe C-6 NBD Ceramide, Golgi-Tracker Green stains Golgi better and is more photostable. Golgi-Tracker Green stains live cells well but is not suitable for fixed cells.
