Fatostatin
Catalog No.
A9954
A specific inhibitor of SREBP
Featured Products
Fatostatin is a specific inhibitor of SREBP (sterol regulatory element binding protein) activation. Fatostatin inhibits the expression of mature and downstream genes by inhibiting the activation of SREBP-1 and SREBP-2 and preventing their transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus. This inhibition results in a reduction in cholesterol and fatty acid synthesis, so Fatostatin is considered to have potential applications in the treatment of metabolic diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes. In addition, research suggests that Fatostatin may also have anti-cancer properties.
