Background

Carvacrol (CAS No.: 499-75-2) is a monoterpene phenol. It is presumed to have multiple biological activities, such as antibacterial, antioxidant, and anticancer activities. Carvacrol mainly exerts its biological activity by inducing cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase, downregulating the expression of Notch-1 (Notch homolog 1) and Jagged-1 (jagged protein 1), and inducing apoptosis.
