Background

Danofloxacin Mesylate (CAS No.: 119478-55-6) is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent mainly used in the veterinary field. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit bacterial DNA gyrase, thereby blocking the DNA replication process and exerting antibacterial effects. Studies show that the 90% minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC90) of Danofloxacin Mesylate against bovine respiratory pathogens such as Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, and Histophilus somni is 0.125 μg/ml, indicating significant in vitro activity at nanomolar to low micromolar levels. In animal models, mouse in vivo protection tests show that the protective dose (PD50) of Danofloxacin Mesylate against Pasteurella multocida, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella choleraesuis is 0.38, 0.8, and 2.42 mg/kg, respectively. The dose or concentration used in experiments typically depends on the experimental design and research objectives.
