6-Ketolithocholic acid
6-Oxolithocholic acid is a bile acid metabolite derived from Lithocholic acid and belongs to secondary bile acids. 6-Oxolithocholic acid has high cytotoxicity, especially in hepatocytes, it can induce apoptosis by activating apoptotic signaling pathways and may be involved in the pathological process of cholestatic liver disease. 6-Oxolithocholic acid can participate in the regulation of bile acid metabolism and synthesis by regulating the expression of key enzymes in bile acid synthesis (such as CYP7A1), or by influencing the activity of nuclear receptors such as fanitol X receptor (FXR) and progesterone X receptor (PXR). This further affects the conversion of cholesterol into bile acids and the enterohepatic circulation pathway of cholesterol.
