SBC-115076
SBC-115076 (CAS 489415-96-5) is a small molecule targeting proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), a serine protease primarily expressed in liver and intestinal tissues. PCSK9 negatively regulates cellular low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) levels through intracellular and extracellular binding, thereby influencing plasma cholesterol metabolism. SBC-115076 increases LDLR expression and dose-dependently enhances cellular uptake of dihydro-LDL in vitro. In high-fat diet-fed mouse models, SBC-115076 treatment significantly reduced total cholesterol levels, demonstrating potential utility in preclinical research as a therapeutic candidate for hypercholesterolemia and cardiovascular disease.
