SSC (20X, DNase/RNase free)

SSC (20X, DNase/RNase free) is a 20X concentrated saline sodium citrate buffer free of DNase and RNase. It consists of 3 M NaCl and 0.3 M sodium citrate, and is a commonly used solution for nucleic acid hybridization (Southern‑blot, Northern‑blot) in molecular biology. This product is sterile and DNase/RNase/protease‑free.

It is designed for denaturation and washing steps in various hybridization experiments. Common working concentrations are 2X SSC and 0.5X SSC, depending on the application. 2X SSC is used for high‑stringency salt washing to remove partially non‑specifically bound probes. 0.5X SSC is used for low‑stringency salt washing to enhance the binding specificity of nucleic acid probes.

This product is treated with DEPC (diethyl pyrocarbonate) and autoclaved to ensure the absence of DNase, RNase and protease activities.
