Background

JC-10 is a commonly used mitochondrial membrane potential probe, which is used to detect the changes of mitochondrial membrane potential during apoptosis. JC-10 is concentrated in the mitochondrial matrix under normal mitochondrial membrane potential and shows red fluorescence. When the membrane potential is reduced, JC-10 exists in the cytoplasm as a monomer, showing green fluorescence. In addition, JC-10 has also been proved to be an effective inhibitor of metalloproteinases, which can inhibit the activity of a variety of metalloproteinases, and has important application value in biomedical research.
