Probe for Mitochondrial Membrane Potential
Featured Products
JC-1 (CAS: 3520-43-2) is a fluorescent probe commonly utilized to evaluate mitochondrial membrane potential, thereby serving as a functional indicator of mitochondrial activity. Within cells, JC-1 selectively accumulates in mitochondria in a membrane-potential-dependent manner, shifting fluorescence emission from green to red as it forms aggregates at higher mitochondrial potentials. This fluorescence shift allows researchers to monitor mitochondrial membrane integrity and assess cellular metabolic states. JC-1 is widely applied in studies of apoptosis, mitochondrial dysfunction, and cellular bioenergetics.
