Urolithin M5
Urolithin M5 is a natural neuraminidase (NA) inhibitor isolated from olive leaves. Studies have shown that Urolithin M5 can effectively prevent the replication and spread of influenza viruses by inhibiting the activity of viral NA, and shows significant antiviral activity both in vitro and in vivo. In the mouse model of PR8 influenza virus infection, Urolithin M5 can significantly increase the survival rate of infected mice, effectively improve the symptoms of pulmonary edema, and alleviate the lung injury caused by viral infection. These research results indicate that Urolithin M5 has good potential against influenza viruses and can be used as a new type of antiviral candidate compound for further anti-influenza research and drug development.
