Calcium Phosphate Cell Transfection Kit
Calcium phosphate-mediated transfection is a traditional method widely used in biomedical research for delivering exogenous DNA into eukaryotic cells. This technique is based on the optimal conditions of calcium chloride and phosphate buffer to control the formation of DNA-calcium phosphate co-precipitates. The resulting co-precipitates bind to the cell membrane and are taken up by the cells through endocytosis, thereby facilitating subsequent transgene expression. Typical applications include transient and stable gene expression studies conducted in cultured cells. The provided kit demonstrates approximately 70-80% transfection efficiency in HEK293 cells and moderate efficiency (about 40-60%) in other commonly used cell lines such as HeLa and CHO. The formulation of this product maintains consistency in pH and ionic concentration, reducing cytotoxic effects and variability. It is suitable for most adherent and suspension cells used in molecular experiments that involve gene transfer, protein expression, and functional assays.
