Featured Products
Procaine HCl (CAS No.: 51-05-8) is a local anesthetic widely used in biomedical research. Its primary mechanism of action is to block the conduction of nerve impulses by inhibiting voltage-gated sodium channels, thereby producing an anesthetic effect. In addition, Procaine HCl has been found to inhibit N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors and nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR), with IC50 values of 0.296 mM and 45.5 μM, respectively, indicating in vitro activity from low micromolar to mid-micromolar levels. In cell and animal models, Procaine HCl is commonly used to study neural signal transduction, ion channel function, and related drug screening assays. The dose or concentration used in experiments typically depends on the experimental design and research objectives.
