Piracetam

Piracetam (CAS No.: 7491-74-9) is a cyclic derivative of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and is widely used in the treatment of cognitive disorders. Its primary mechanism of action has not been fully elucidated, but studies suggest that Piracetam may enhance cognitive function by affecting neuronal and vascular function without producing sedative or stimulant effects. In vitro studies show that Piracetam can significantly reduce membrane fusion and instability induced by β-amyloid (Aβ) 29-42, and this effect is concentration-dependent.
