Background

Pachybasin is a major metabolite of endophytic Coelomyceteous AFKR-18 fungal cultures.Pachybasin showed antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, M. luteus, S. cerevisiae, C. albicans, A. niger and A. flavus with a MIC value of 64.0 μg/mL and 32.0 and 16.0 μg/mL against S. aureus and F. oxysporum, respectively.
