Sarecycline hydrochloride is a narrow-spectrum antibiotic derived from tetracyclines. It exerts its effects by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, with a mechanism involving interference with the binding of transfer RNA (tRNA) and messenger RNA (mRNA) to the bacterial 70S ribosome.
