Nimorazole

Nimorazole (CAS No.: 6506-37-2) is a nitroimidazole compound originally developed for antiparasitic therapy, mainly targeting Trichomonas infections (tsu.tw). Its mechanism of action involves enhancing the sensitivity of tumor cells to radiotherapy under hypoxic conditions, and it has therefore been studied as a radiosensitizer for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. In in vitro studies, Nimorazole shows radiosensitizing effects on hypoxic tumor cells at low micromolar levels. Its use in cell and animal models typically involves combination with radiotherapy to evaluate synergistic effects on tumor growth inhibition. The doses or concentrations used in experiments usually depend on the experimental design and research objectives.
