Background

Monotropein (CAS 5945-50-6) is an iridoid glycoside isolated from the whole plant of Pyrola incarnata, a species belonging to the Pyrolaceae family. It exhibits anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Current research suggests that monotropein modulates inflammation pathways through inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines and reactive oxygen species suppression. Due to these biological effects, monotropein is employed experimentally to investigate mechanisms underlying inflammatory diseases and oxidative stress-related pathology. Store the compound under dry, cool conditions in a tightly sealed container.
