inhibitor of glucosylceramide synthase
Featured Products
Miglustat hydrochloride (CAS No.: 210110-90-0) is a reversible inhibitor of glucosylceramide synthase (Glucosylceramide Synthase, GCS), mainly used for research and treatment of diseases associated with abnormal lipid metabolism, such as Gaucher disease type I, GM1 gangliosidosis, Tay-Sachs disease, and Niemann-Pick disease type C. Its mechanism of action involves inhibition of ceramide-specific glucosyltransferase and β-glucosidase 2; in vitro studies show IC50 values of 32 μM and 81 μM for these enzymes, respectively. In cellular and animal models, Miglustat hydrochloride is commonly used to evaluate its regulatory effects on glycosphingolipid metabolism, and the dose or concentration used in experiments typically depends on the experimental design and research objectives.
