Since KMG-301 does not penetrate the mitochondrial membrane, KMG-301 is not released upon depolarization of the mitochondrial membrane potential.KMG-301 is indicative of the mitochondrial Mg concentration and can show Mg translocation across the mitochondrial membrane in early stages of cell models.
