HS 014 TFA
HS‑014 TFA is the trifluoroacetate salt form of HS‑014. HS‑014 (CAS No.: 207678-81-7) is a potent and selective melanocortin‑4 receptor (MC4R) antagonist (Ki≈3.16 nM), which competitively blocks the binding of ligands such as α‑MSH to MC4R, thereby inhibiting the MC4R-mediated cAMP signaling pathway. The α‑MSH‑MC4R‑cAMP pathway plays a key role in the central regulation of appetite and energy metabolism; therefore, by attenuating the anorexigenic/energy expenditure signals transmitted by MC4R, HS‑014 significantly increases food intake in freely feeding rats at the whole-animal level, making it a classic tool molecule for studying the mechanisms of central appetite regulation and energy balance.
